Save Masculinity from Patriarchy!
Patriarchy is defined as "A social system in which the role of the male as the primary authority figure is central to social organization, and where fathers hold authority over women, children, and property. It implies the institutions of male rule and privilege, and is dependent on female subordination.
Historically, patriarchy has manifested itself in the social, legal, political, and economic organization of a range of different cultures. Patriarchy also has a strong influence on modern civilization, although many cultures have moved towards a more egalitarian social system over the past century.”

It is still true today that a large % of the world’s female population is regarded as less-than, with treatment ranging from exclusion and disrespect -to violence against women, animals and our planet, Mother Earth. The other day, I came across this bumper sticker: “Save Masculinity from Patriarchy!” http://www.ecobumperstickers.com/lefty.htm# lol….I find so much truth in this statement.
In an effort to try and understand my own life as well as the suffering of other people, animals and the planet, I’ve come to the personal conclusion that it is not “Males”, per say that need a ‘clue’, but instead it is the individual’s disconnection from their inner truth that has caused them to abuse themselves, woman, man, animals and the planet. Patriarchy in its darkest form supports dominating, disrespecting and conquering womankind, mankind and everything else in its path. It is an ugly fear and ego based system that destroys and separates. -Very absurd.
Masculinity in contrast is a beautiful, natural and necessary sense of self that supports assertion, action, protection and drive. All women and all men have “Both” a feminine and a masculine side to their being. The goal for humans is to bring “Both” of these sides into balance. Balance supports integral power and harmonious action. Balance allows a re-connection to Mother Earth creating equality, peace-based lifestyles and heart centered solutions, for all.
